HERE STUDENTS WILL BE LEARNING ABOUT THE HABITS AND IN TURN TUTORING THEIR PEERS IN CLASS AND DURING LUNCH USING THEIR NEW HABITS. My World History Honor Students have also created Blogs where they will be documenting their experiences much like I am. Some of their links are below: http://yasserabdelrahman.weebly.com/ http://tommachea.weebly.com/blog-entries http://keonibutler.weebly.com/ | My Changes:From the lecture the other day by Dr. Pumpian, one phrase has continued to stick with me, "Would you go back to that sales person for your second car?" Sometimes I feel like I am a car sales person as a teacher trying to convince the students that what we are doing is meaningful and worth their time. Even though they might not "buy" it (the notes, discussions, content, assignments, etc.) at the time, am I building relationships of trust that what we are doing matters. Being proactive is about being choosing to be prepared, aware and accepting that we really can control only 3 things. These things being:
Understanding what I can control helps in releasing the stress of what I cannot. There are times where I react to the environment like negative student behavior or adult sassiness. However, I have leaders on staff that model how to be proactive. How to be a great and healthy leader. So I commit to control the three things I can with professionalism and class. |
