So this is it! I'm done with this project for now!!!! I am going to have The Container Store, professionally design the closet! I'm happy for my progression in learning about organization and tempting to change some bad habits! I'm interested in continuing to learn about organization! This will be an ongoing project in my room and life. There are many resources and ideas, but what it comes down to is routinely addressing my learning goals! I've had some great conversations with colleagues, friends and family members about how they organize things, and these conversations turn into resources or even a sweet holiday gift card to The Container Store to get me started. Learning is about doing, and doing often. So the next update might be the new re-designed closet.
Different Closet Doors...and i need more light!I took out one of the "broken" closet door. I replaced it with sheer curtains. I really like the look, but it is really dark. Additionally, I need to had permanent hooks in the wall to ensure that the nails do not come out from the ceiling. I will be heading to Ikea for different sheer curtains. Also, I only have two curtains up, I would like to put up six.
The tips in this YOUTUBE video are truly small adjustments that could make a huge difference. I do not like the backwards hanger, but the concept is great!
The closet doors are broken and no not help "hide" my stuff! They will be removed and replaced with new working closet doors. But I do not know what that looks like right now. From the picture, I really can see the un-used space at the top. There are plans to turn these into shelves for seasonal hats, scarves and sweaters. I cannot wait.

I hope you share the resources you find and the before and after! These types of "make overs" are always my favorite reality TV to watch. This is a project I need for my home. I can never stick to a system. |
